Rental Rules & Regulations
A SECURITY DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED IN THE EVENT OF DAMAGED OR LOST EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE TO THE VESSEL AND/OR LOST EQUIPMENT WILL BE INVOICED AND CHARGED TO RENTER UPON CHECK-IN
PLEASE RETURN ON TIME
$100.00 LATE FEE WILL BE ASSESSED
A CLEANING FEE WILL APPLY TO BOATS RETURNED EXCESSIVELY DIRTY
INSPECT THE RENTAL BOAT & EQUIPMENT BEFORE YOU DEPART
TAKE PHOTOS OF THE PROPELLER
& NOTE ANY EXISTING DAMAGE WITH YOUR DOCK ATTENDANT
THE PROPELLER, LOWER UNIT, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF BOAT WILL BE INSPECTED UPON RETURN
NO REFUNDS FOR EARLY RETURNS
Rentals are ONLY permitted on the lake from sunrise to sunset.
The rental day is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Life jackets for all members of your party are provided at no additional cost.
Children under 12 years old must wear a life jackets at all times while the boat is underway.
Towboat Lake George L.L.C. has zero tolerance for boating under the influence.
BOATING WHILE INTOXICATED IS A CRIME. BE SOBER—BE SAFE
We take safety seriously. Reckless or unsafe operation of the rented vessel will terminate your rental.
Reckless Operation of a boat is operating a boat carelessly in willful disregard of the rights, safety, or property of others. Some examples of reckless operation are: Boating in restricted areas without regard for other boaters or persons, posted speeds and wake restrictions, diver-down flags, etc. Exceeding maximum capacity, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Jumping the wake of another boat unnecessarily close to that boat.
Unsafe Operation of a boat is operating in a manner that endangers or is likely to endanger others or their property. An example of an unsafe operation is causing danger or damage from the wake of your boat. Jumping a wake with a motorized vessel within 100 feet of another vessel, jumping the wake of any vessel that is towing a person on water skis, inner tube, wakeboard, or other similar devices, operating a vessel within any area marked off or set aside as a prohibited area or a swim area, weaving your vessel through congested waterway traffic, operating a vessel in a manner that creates hazardous wave or wake conditions while approaching or passing another vessel, steering toward another object or person in the water and swerving at the last possible moment to avoid a collision, chasing, harassing, or disturbing wildlife with your vessel.
Obey Speed Limits (in all areas)
• Maximum 45 MPH: 6 AM to 9 PM
• Maximum 25 MPH: 9 PM to 6 AM
• Maximum 5 MPH: No Wake Zones, within 100 feet of docks, moorings, anchored vessels, etc.
Look to the sky and remember to be prepared for sudden weather changes. Lake George is 32 miles long and 3 miles wide at its widest, making it ripe for fast winds and rough waters.
Vessels cannot be anchored, moored, or recreated from within 200 feet of private property shoreline.
Waterskiing
All persons waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. must wear an approved Type III personal flotation device (PFD). An observer at least 10 years old is required. Remember it takes THREE to SKI!
